What preparation is required for a Cali Bamboo floor installation?

Cali Bamboo is a beautiful and very popular product! However, it is quite finicky and the conditions have to be just right for us to install it.

These are the things you need to consider:

The flooring has to acclimate for at least 5 days in the room where it will be installed. It has to be unwrapped and each individual piece has to be Cross stacked 4" off the floor like Lincoln Logs. 

You should maintain a relative humidity in your home of 40-60%. 

This is an above grade only product, it cannot be installed in basements. 

Please make sure your furniture does not weigh more than 500 LBS. or you can NOT put it on this floor.

These are the things we need to consider:

If your floor joists are 12" your floor thickness must be a minimum of  5/8". For 12-16" joists you must be 3/4". Joists 16-19.2' apart must be a minimum of 7/8" and joists 19.3-24" apart must have a minimum floor thickness of 1-1/8 inch for this Bamboo product to be installed in your home.

After 30 ft. you will need to add an additional 1/16 every 10 ft. for expansion around the perimeter of your floor and if your floor is floating a transition strip is required after 30 ft. to give your floor the proper expansion it needs to move.

The nailing pattern is 8-10 inches.
