You may hear the word "acclimation" a lot before we install your hard surface flooring. Basically, it means you need to give the materials time to adjust to the conditions of your home. Things like temperature and humidity can vary greatly from place to place. If we installed your new flooring without proper acclimation time, it could cause issues down the road once it has had time to settle in. Boards can gap or pop up with changes in those conditions. Different products require different amounts of acclimation time. Your Lowe's specialist can find out exactly what is needed for your product. Most products require just a few days, but some will require a few weeks!
*ProTip: when the materials are delivered to your home make sure they are put inside in the area where it will be installed for the best acclimation. A garage won't do! If our installers arrive to find the materials are not where they belong, we will have to reschedule!
