Can I install cabinets on top of my floating hardwood / laminate floors?

Please don't! Floating floors lock together but are not actually affixed to the floor. That is why they are called "floating". If you affix something through the boards, it can no longer float. This means that the flooring could fail by buckling, popping apart, etc. If you affix anything to a floating floor, you will automatically void your warranty.
