Tiles come in many shapes, sizes and materials. Ceramic, porcelain, and glass tiles are all man-made materials that are often designed to look like natural stone. Natural stone is just that: Natural. It is literally a piece of stone cut from a quarry or a mountain somewhere in the world, polished and sold in tile form. It is beautiful but does require more maintenance. Natural stone tile also has many more color and texture inconsistencies than man-made tile. There are usually more color and size variations in natural stone tile.
