Resilient flooring is a generic term for vinyl flooring. It usually refers to a 12 x 12 solid color vinyl tile used in commercial flooring that is polished with a floor buffer and installed with a troweled-on glue. Resilient to a lot of people means "being able to take abuse" that's why lots of people choose vinyl because they find it pet friendly and water spills will not usually damage a vinyl floor like it would a carpet or wood floor.
