Cali Bamboo is a stunning and durable flooring option that can last a lifetime. However, it comes with strict installation requirements and may not be suitable for every home. Please review the following considerations before choosing this product.
Key Requirements for Homeowners
- Acclimation: Must be cross-stacked (like Lincoln Logs) at least 4" off the floor in the installation area for a minimum of 7 days. Longer acclimation may be needed.
- Humidity: Maintain 40–60% relative humidity in your home. On the day of the scheduled installation, we will take a moisture reading of the bamboo as well as your sub-floor, and a humidity reading of the air in your home. We would be required to delay or decline the install if the moisture and humidity requirements are not met. A whole-house humidifier may be required.
- Installation Area: Cali Bamboo is for above-grade installations only—not suitable for basements.
- Furniture Weight: Items over 500 lbs should not be placed on this flooring.
- Transitions: Floating installations require transitions at every doorway and bend, because it is much more prone to shrinkage and shifting. Gaps may still occur and are not considered a defect.
