Why do I have to add a Lead Assessment on a detail?

Great question! This is a confusing topic for many Sales Specialists! Some sales specialists think we perform a lead test. We do not. It is a visual assessment required by the EPA in any home built before 1978. If a home was built before 1978, we assume it has had lead paint used in the past. We are assessing it to see if we will disturb more than 6 square feet of painted surfaces inside or more than 20 feet of paint outside. You should be asking the customer what year their home was built for every detail.
