Before your installation day, it’s important to prepare your home and ensure the work area is ready:
- Climate Control: Please ensure that the HVAC is running and there is electricity in the home. The temperature in the room(s) should be set to 68-72 degrees prior to install.
- Clear the Space: Ensure the work area is accessible and free of debris. The areas/rooms must be empty of all furniture (if furniture move was not purchased as part of the installation) prior to installation.
- Electronics & Furniture: Unplug and remove all electronics, including TVs, computers, and smart devices. Clear all furniture surfaces and remove fragile or valuable items, such as: glass, breakables, books, knick-knacks, clothing, toys, pictures, etc..
- Wall & Closet Prep: Take down wall items along pathways. Closets do not need to be empty, but installers require 3-4 feet of clear space to work. Please clear the floor, remove low-hanging items, and secure or remove anything loose above.
- Beds & Frames: Remove bedding and items under beds. Bed frames should be broken down in advance—additional charges may apply if installers need to do this.
- Dressers should be cleared off, but do not have to be emptied. Please be advised that if the dresser is too heavy, the drawers may have to be removed.
- Safety First: Keep children and pets away from the work area during installation. (Flooring soiled by pets must also be removed prior to install.)
- Hard Surface Installation: An area must be available for the installer to set up and use their saws that is protected from weather, like a garage or covered porch.
- Adult Presence Required: An adult (18+) who is able to make decisions must be present throughout the installation.
