When we measure your space, we determine where transitions are needed based on the type of flooring you've selected. These transitions are required by manufacturers to maintain product warranties and ensure proper installation.
Why Transitions Matter
- Manufacturer Guidelines: We strictly follow these to uphold your installation warranty.
- Floating Floors: Seamless hard surface floors are appealing, but floating floors, such as hardwood or laminate, require transitions at doorways, bends, and after certain distances to allow for expansion and prevent damage.
- Ceramic Tile: A Schluter bar or transition strip is always used to protect tile edges from cracking and chipping. Bare edges are unsafe and prone to damage.
What You Can Do
- Ask Your Lowe’s Flooring Specialist: They can explain the transition requirements for your specific product.
- Check the Box: Installation instructions included with your flooring often detail transition needs.
- Review the Diagram: After measurement, we send a layout to Lowe’s showing where transitions will be placed. Your specialist should go over this with you before purchase.
You can trust that our team follows all manufacturer requirements to deliver a safe, professional, and long-lasting installation.
