To attach your new carpet to your old carpet in a doorway, our installers will heat up the existing seam to release the seam tape. They will then simply run a new seam between the old carpet and the new carpet. If you plan to remove your existing carpet yourself, please leave the seam intact (let the old carpet run through the doorway and into the room a bit) so the installer has plenty to work with to properly create the new seam. The only time we may run into an issue with seaming carpet to carpet is if the existing carpet is old and frayed. In that case, we can talk about other options like metal transitions.
