How do you attach my new carpet to my old carpet in the doorway?

If you're installing new carpet next to existing carpet in a doorway:

Our installers will heat the existing seam to release the seam tape, then create a new seam between the old and new carpet.
If you're removing old carpet yourself, please leave the seam intact—let the old carpet run slightly into the room so installers have enough material to work with.
Old or frayed carpet may not seam well. In such cases, we’ll discuss alternatives like metal transitions.

Where carpet meets hard surface flooring, we can also perform a turn and tack for a clean finish.
